Charleston Distance Run 15 Miler


The CDR 15 training is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July  5th to prepare for the Charleston Distance Run 15 miler on Labor Day weekend, Saturday, September 4th.

The class is great for runners attempting their first CDR and for experienced runners who have never had coaching.  The class teaches essentials for endurance training that apply to races of the half marathon distance and longer.

About the Class

Coach Tracey Suppa-Todd will lead weekly training sessions
Who:  For runners with at least six months of running experience. Minimum requirements prior to week 1 is a long run of 7 miles and 18 weekly miles.

What: Coaching on general principles for endurance training, race specific workouts to develop speed and endurance, and coaching on specific types of workouts like hill repeats, pace intervals, pace runs, aerobic development, and progression runs.

​When:  Weekly coached group workouts at 6:00 pm on Tuesdays beginning on July 5th during the 9 weeks.

Where:  The first class meets at the Coonskin clubhouse and then  at various locations in Charleston throughout the 9 weeks.

Why:  For those seeking professional coaching and advice to try their first CDR or to improve on their CDR PR.   Coaching generally appeals  to runners who like structure, discipline, accountability and the camaraderie of training partners.

For $100 your non refundable registration includes:
  • Weekly group coaching sessions, training plans, weekly email messages with workout specifics and video instruction
  • Genesis Running Headsweats (TM) hat or visor
  • RRCA certified coaches lead the workouts
  • Instruction on all of the necessities such as nutrition, hydration, and strength training for runners
